This beginner tier list ranks Mistfall Hunter classes by forgiveness, learning curve, and how often Open Beta newcomers reported successful extracts while still learning mechanics. It is not the same as the overall Tier List hub, which weights peak performance and burst more heavily.

All placements reflect Open Beta community consensus ahead of the July 29, 2026 launch. Balance patches can reorder this list within days of release.

How beginner ranking differs from meta tier

Meta tier lists ask: “Who wins fights at high skill?” Beginner lists ask: “Who lets me learn extraction without losing every inventory?” That difference pushes Mercenary upward and Shadowstrix downward even when assassins dominate duel montages.

Tier breakdown by class

S-tier beginner: Mercenary

Mercenary tops beginner lists because sword and shield reduces burst damage from Corroded telegraphs and hunter openers while you learn map flow. Hammer stance gives a clear upgrade path once stance swap feels natural.

A-tier beginner: Sorcerer and Blackarrow

Sorcerer belongs here for players with strong positioning habits from other genres. Mistakes still cost runs, but staff range teaches safe Woodling damage from angles.

Blackarrow belongs here for players who naturally kite. Without that habit, melee rush deletes bow lines faster than new players expect.

B-tier beginner: Withered Knight and Seer

Withered Knight is readable once you understand parry games, but greatsword commitment hurts while you still learn when not to fight.

Seer jumps to B-tier or higher in fixed trios with voice comms. Random solo queue Seer onboarding sits lower in community reports.

C-tier beginner: Shadowstrix

Shadowstrix is powerful in overall tier discussion but unforgiving for first mains. Learn extraction on Mercenary, then swap when third-party timing makes sense.

Solo versus trio for new players

Solo beginners should stay in S–A rows: Mercenary first, cautious Sorcerer or Blackarrow second. Avoid Seer unless you accept slower solo progress.

Trio beginners can elevate Seer one tier if one friend plays frontline and another plays damage. Mercenary frontline still helps the least experienced squad member.
