4. Summon a portal and extract.

The Soul of Return is not a optional bonus. It is the gating item for successful run resolution in official loop descriptions. Plan your Build and Gyldenblod priorities around reaching the boss with enough resources to win and exit.

Finding the Returner Woodling

Pre-launch public detail focuses on sensory routing rather than fixed coordinates, which suits procedural or rotating ruin layouts.

Bell audio cues

Open Beta players widely reported bell sounds intensifying as they approached the Woodling arena or spawn trigger. Treat bells as a directional audio beacon:

• Pause looting when you first hear distant bell tones and mark your heading.
• Compare stereo panning (headphones strongly recommended) to narrow left/right.
• Move floor to floor carefully — bells often grow louder across vertical ruin layers.
• Communicate in squad play so one player can call bell volume changes while others hold angles against Corroded or rival Gyldhunters.

Map marks from beta reports

Add control and arena space

Stance selection

After the kill: Soul of Return

Loot the Soul of Return immediately and call extract plans on voice. Assign escort if your kit is slow. Do not emote or loot secondary chests until the soul is secured unless your squad agrees on greed timing.

If you die with the soul before portal, treat the run as failed unless launch rules document recovery — beta soul-state corpse mechanics were not guaranteed for PvP bodies.

Mist Lords and optional detours

Squad and solo differences

Solo players should gear for self-peel, hit-and-run add clears, and early extracts. Squads can split bell listening and entrance watches but must agree on loot rules for Gyldenblod so nobody stalls the soul run.
